These socket drive screws are TRUE TITANIUM(TM), specifically Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V). Grade 5 titanium is a common aerospace alloy that has been used in commercial aircraft for decades. The heads of these screws are drilled perpendicular to the axis of the screw, allowing a safety wire to be installed in order to prevent the screw from coming loose. Screws used onboard spacecraft commonly require safety wires.
The Ring around the head is a trademark so you can quickly identify that the screw is manufactured from a high strength titanium alloy. With a minimum yield strength of 128,000 psi (880 Mpa), they are designed for structural applications in race cars, sailboats, powerboats, engines, bicycles, etc. If you are looking for high strength, or lightweight, or corrosion freedom, these socket drive screws will work perfectly.
